FOR THE LOVE OF SUMMER

JUNE 4, 2024

Posted March 26, 2019

Dear Reader,

Read the entire newsletter to learn about my gorgeous new website, and the exciting contest I’m hosting to celebrate it!

As you may know, I've written a lot of books. A LOT. As in over 100 a lot. Over 150. I'm not even sure of the exact number, to be honest, because there are books and novellas and anthologies… (Oh, my!) One of the biggest benefits of being on my mailing list is that I let you know when I release a book and whether it's new or a reissue. It can get confusing because titles are hard to remember, and the cover art changes. I don't ever want you to accidentally buy a book that you've already read. (I have no objection to you doing it on purpose.)

All that is preamble to say. . . The Best of Friends is available now! This is a reissue with an appealing new cover that highlights the friendship between Jayne and Rebecca. Originally published in 2010, it remains to this day one of the books readers ask me about the most. If you've read it, you know why. If you don't remember, maybe it's time for a re-read

This is a Pocket Books BOOK CLUB FAVORITE, with a reader guide included..

David, her best friend's brother, is the man Jayne always wanted and knew she could never have. . .

In high school, studious Jayne Scott and wild child Rebecca Worden became unlikely best friends--a tie that endured even after Rebecca fled her family to live overseas. After Jayne's mother passed away, she became part unpaid assistant, part surrogate daughter to the wealthy Wordens. But now, ten years later, Rebecca is coming home to L.A. to cause havoc for Elizabeth, the mother who all but rejected her. And Jayne finds herself pulled deeper into the Wordens' complicated family dynamics--especially when Rebecca's brother, David, returns as well.

David is the man Jayne always wanted and knew she could never have. But when he gravitates toward her despite Elizabeth's protests, her vow to escape the family's shadow is put to the ultimate test. And as lies are shattered and true feelings exposed, Jayne must decide where loyalty ends, and love begins…

PLUS A BRAND-NEW BOOK COMING SOON!

The Baxter Sisters have only ever had one another—until one fateful summer when Sunshine and Margot turn disastrous luck into destiny…

Etiquette coach Margot Baxter knows precisely how to manage wayward clients…until she comes face-to-exquisite-face with Bianca, an aging movie star notorious for her shock-and-awe tactics. Schooling Bianca on the fine art of behaving like a diplomat’s wife is the greatest challenge of Margot’s career. Soon, secrets unravel that bring them closer together and force Margot to confront the truth: Change doesn’t just happen. She has to be brave enough to demand the life—and love—she’s always wanted.

For years, Sunshine has been the good-time sister, abandoning jobs to chase after dreams that will never come true. No more. She refuses to be "that girl" again. This time, she’ll finish college and dedicate herself to her future. And she 100 percent will not let her life get derailed by a man again…no matter how tempting that man may be.

Master storyteller Susan Mallery weaves threads of family drama, wit, heart, and a wish-you-were-there setting into one of the most satisfying books of the year!

DEBUT: SPARKLING NEW WEBSITE

I'm thrilled to debut my fabulous new website design! Go to SusanMallery.com to check it out for yourself. This mobile-friendly site looks gorgeous on every device. My webmaster Shelley did an amazing, amazing job (as always). It's stunning! A few of my favorite things about the new website:

•    It's easy to navigate, whether you're on a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
•    The drop-down menus on the BOOKS page make me giddy with delight. They're so fun and more importantly, so useful.
•    The Members Only sign-in has been completely reworked, so if you had problems signing in before, you should have no trouble now. (I'm talking to you, Samsung Galaxy users!)
•    Harlequin gave me permission to share 12 delicious recipes from the Fool's Gold Cookbook. Mmmmmm! The recipes are in the Members Only area.
•    The new Contest sign-up form is much more mobile-friendly… and to prove it, I'm holding a contest right now so you can test it out.

If you notice any problems, please email Shelley at webmaster@susanmallery.com to let her know.

Happy reading!
