It’s official – THREE SISTERS is a bestseller! My agent emailed me Wednesday with many exclamation points because THREE SISTERS made three appearances on the New York Times bestsellers list – the trade paperback fiction list, the ebook fiction list, and the combined print and ebook fiction list. Then minutes later, more exclamation points as my agent wrote again to tell me that THREE SISTERS had also hit the USA Today bestsellers list. The USA Today list tracks all books on a single list – fiction and nonfiction, hardcover, paperback, and ebook – so it was very exciting to see THREE SISTERS at #19. (Or should I say, it was very exciting!!!!!) On both lists, this was a new all-time high for me with a trade paperback release.
I can’t tell you how much it means to me that readers love my books enough to rush to the bookstores – including online bookstores – so they can read each book as soon as it’s released. And reader feedback on THREE SISTERS has been pretty incredible. As I write, there are 224 reviews on Amazon.com and 204 on BN.com. On both sites, 98% of the reviews are 4 and 5 stars. 98%! I can’t remember ever having a book receive better reviews.
My hope now is that book clubs will discover THREE SISTERS. I think the book would make an excellent selection for book clubs because there are so many themes that regular people can relate to. The three women in THREE SISTERS are ordinary women dealing with problems that, if we haven’t faced them ourselves, we’ve all known someone who has faced them. It’s a deeply personal story. And it has a happy ending. I’m just not big on depressing books. I don’t want to read them, and I certainly don’t want to write them. I bet lots of book club readers feel the same way!
